QSP and QSD are State Water Resources Control Board (WRCB)-recognized certifications required to prepare and implement storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) for construction sites more than one acre in area. Certification holders are responsible for creating, revising, overseeing and implementing the project’s SWPPPs. The 2009-0009-DWQ Construction General Permit (CGP) requires that QSD and QSPs attend a State Water Board Sponsored Training Course. In accordance with these requirements, Ritchie has successfully passed the WRCB approved exam. Ritchie’s attainment of this certification is part of the expansion initiative of SCS Engineers’ Storm Water and Surface Water Services into Northern California. In addition to these new certifications Ritchie’s technical experience covers a range of environmental projects and applications of state regulations, including property transaction and development support, subsurface investigation, restoration and preservation, as well as mediation and litigation support, emergency response management, regulatory agency negotiation and site closure. “Expanding our capabilities in Northern California is part of SCS Engineers’ initiative to provide storm water and surface water services into a rapidly growing market,” said Sean Porter, SCS National Partner and Storm Water Practice Leader. “These certifications expand and enhance our water-related environmental professional services so we can help our clients achieve the goals of their state-based programs and comply with increasingly complex storm water permits.” About SCS Engineers Since 1970, employee-owned SCS Engineers has delivered economically and environmentally sound solutions for solid waste management and environmental projects throughout the world.
