SCS Engineers Expands Industrial Health and Safety Capabilities in its Long Beach Office

LONG BEACH, Calif. — SCS Engineers added Bob Pilzer to its growing Southern California environmental health and safety practice as a Senior Project Professional.

At SCS, Pilzer will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing asbestos, lead and mold inspection projects, asbestos and lead training, abatement oversight and monitoring, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, and stormwater sampling throughout the southwestern states.

“Bob brings extensive knowledge of industrial health and safety management; which are important practice areas for the SCS’s southwest profit center,” said SCS Engineers Vice President, Julio Nuno. “His expertise ensures we continue to provide a high level of service to clients, and enables SCS to advance our strategic industrial health initiative in the western region.”

Pilzer’s 19 years of Industrial Health and Safety experience includes Transaction Screen Assessments and microbial investigations, as well as hazardous materials surveys. He has performed Property Condition Assessments, seismic evaluations and Phase II subsurface investigations. His education includes a bachelor’s degree in physics and astronomy from the University of Pittsburgh. Bob is also a Certified Asbestos Consultant, Lead-Related Construction Inspector/Assessor, Project Designer, Project Monitor and Supervisor and a Registered Environmental Property Assessor. He is a member of the Association of Professional Industrial Hygienists, and has a host of additional certifications and training with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Department of Public Health (DPH).
