Chowder Named “Biff’s Pick” Great NH Restaurant awarded Best Chowder by NASCAR Driver

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Aug. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Chef Nicole Barreira and Great NH Restaurants earned the title of “Biff’s Pick” on August 20^th for creating the best chowder in a blind taste test judged by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Greg Biffle and Captain Ralph Wilkins of “Wicked Tuna” on the National Geographic Channel. The competition took place at the Strawberry Banke Museum in Portsmouth, NH where celebrity chefs from some of New England’s finest restaurants joined to compete for the title.

Biffle is the leading spokesman for the NASCAR Green Initiative which has the largest recycling and environmental sustainability program among all U.S. sports. He made a series of stops in New Hampshire in preparation for the SYLVANIA 300, including pit stop in Newington, NH to learn how to shuck oysters with Laura Ward of Fox Point Oysters, followed by the Chowder Taste Off in Portsmouth, NH.

Chef Nicole Barreira represented Great NH Restaurants at the Chowder Taste Off and accepted the silver ladle trophy with “Biff’s Pick” engraved on the front on behalf of T-BONES, Cactus Jacks’ and Copper Door. “It’s great to be recognized with ‘Biff’s Pick’ as having great tasting chowder is a New England must-have,” said Chef Nicole.  The Great NH Restaurants group which includes T-BONES Great American Eatery, Cactus Jack’s and Copper Door has also won Best Chowder at the 2012 and 2013 Chowder Fest in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
