By: The Beehive

BOSTON - Aug. 25, 2014 - PRLog -- WHAT: On Wednesday, September 10th, 2014, from 6:30PM - 8:30PM, The Beehive's co-owner and resident curator Jennifer Epstein and special guest curator, gallery YES.OUI.SI co-founder, Olivia Ives-Flores will co-host the 18th installment in The Beehive's continuing art series entitled Sting! 18: LANDSCAPES: Between Tradition & Imagination, featuring twelve Boston artists working with paint, photography and sculpture. From literal translations of space to abstracted and imagined environments, the exhibition aims to re-interpret the time old subject of the landscape. The exhibition provides the viewer an opportunity to transcend The Beehive and travel with the artists to their created spaces. From Boston with Percy Fortini's spray paint and oil painting of Commonwealth Avenue to the dunes of Aquinnah in Martha's Vineyard with Niko Ewing's 4" x 5" photo collage, to the streets of Lyon, France in Zacharie Lanoue's photo stitch piece, then back to the crib in Havana, Cuba in Enrique Flores- Galbis' oil painting "La Cuna" and out to the far crevices of the imagination in Jamie Calderwood's mixed media topographical dioramas.

The ongoing Sting! series always signifies the launch of a new art installation at The Beehive and highlights an evening of great live entertainment, food & libation specials along with amazing art! For this 18th installment, Jennifer Epstein joined forces with Olivia Ives-Flores to bring together a remarkable group of artists from all over New England. Guest curator Olivia Ives-Flores is an artist and entrepreneur currently living and working in Boston. Originally from New York City, Olivia found her love for the arts at a young age having been introduced to museums by her artistic parents. She attended college at the School of Museum of Fine Arts and finished at Tufts University in Boston. The summer before she graduated, Olivia and a group of her friends decided to open their own gallery, YES.OUI.SI. This creative agency lives for bringing people together around art, both in the physical and digital world. Olivia spends her time cultivating beauty by curating exhibitions, telling stories, building brands and making Boston a more artful city.
