BBI Solutions launches a fully validated human recombinant Cystatin C antigen

Aug. 27, 2014 - PRLog -- This week sees the launch of a new, fully validated recombinant Cystatin C antigen from BBI Solutions, which offers a host of benefits to its users:

Cystatin C is primarily used as a diagnostic marker for kidney function - routine kidney function tests measure serum Creatinine, Urea and glomular filtration rate (GFR). Serum Cystatin C is measured as part of the GFR test, as it is quicker and easier than traditional techniques of collecting urine samples over a 24 hour period. It has also been shown to not be affected by age, gender and body weight of the patient, making it the modern day diagnostic marker of choice.

This product is ideal for use in immunoassays, control and calibrator manufacture and in research and development. Full validation allows BBI to offer high reproducibility, excellent batch to batch consistency and long term supply, which can often prove troublesome with a native alternative.
