Michael Beasley Joins Chloe Moretz , Liev Schreiber, Nick Robinson, Alex Roe, in ‘The 5th Wave’

ATLANTA - Sept. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- Sony’s young adult alien invasion thriller ‘The 5th Wave’ has added Michael Beasley to play the role of Major Bob. The movie stars Chloe Grace Moretz .  J. Blakeson is directing the adaptation of Rick Yancey’s bestselling YA novel, which has a screenplay by Susannah Grant. Nick Robinson and Alex Roe also have lead roles, while Liev Schreiber has the lead villain role, Colonel Vosch.  Moretz plays Cassie Sullivan, one of the last surviving humans left on a planet savaged by waves of alien attacks. When her little brother goes missing, she journeys to find him, meeting a mysterious young man named Evan Walker (Roe) along the way.

Beasley’s Major Bob watches over the children that are brought to Wright Patterson Air Base.  Beasley excels at portraying powerful characters so Major Bob is a good fit for him.

Tobey Maguire, Graham King, and Lynn Harris are producing, with Matthew Plouffe and Denis O’Sullivan executive producing.  Sony is co-financing and distributing.

“The 5th Wave” will be released on January 19, 2016. The book is the first in a planned trilogy. The second book in the series, “The Infinite Sea,” is out in September.

Beasley is currently playing a recurring role of Little Jake in the television series ‘The Untitled KZK Project,’ Netflix’s first original programming. Beasley is also playing a recurring role of Chaykin in the television series ‘Powers.’ ‘Powers’ will premiere in December 2014 on the PlayStation Network, the PSN’s first original programming. ‘Powers,’ ‘The Untitled KZK Project,’ and ‘The Fifth Wave’ are all being produced by Sony.
