What is CAST in the first place?

There is The Association for Software Testing and they are kind enough t hold the CAST, a conference by testers and for testers. CAST is held annually and is the place where any tester has a chance of improving his personal skills as well as gaining practical as theoretical experience and knowledge. Dozens of various relevant to the entire tester-community issues are raised annually at CAST with satisfying answers and fixes.

What was CAST about this year?

This year CAST was entirely dedicated to ‘the art & science of testing’. Technical aspects occurring wide fields like math and physics were blended with soft sciences such as psychology and communicative skills. And so much more. Amazing lectures by respected professionals of their field were kept in a very productive manner. They were divided in two parts. The lection itself and the part where all of the attendants had their chance to ask some questions and get them discussed and fully answered. Thus the conference was as productive as it gets.

How things were going on in NY this August

The entire conference was divided in two parts:

·         August 11: Interactive full day tutorials. Each of them was led by a lector that is of the leaders in the field he was speaking about. The purpose of the activity was in advancing the understanding of testing itself.

·         August 12-13: Lections, studies, experience sharing. The part that proved to be as informative in general as several years of any University. Or so it seemed.

What was gained by the BugHuntess team?

Knowledge and experience was so thick in the air one could practically slice it with a knife. Almost every aspect of modern testing was raised and discussed. Much new was learned by anybody who attended CAST. And there definitely was magic going on in the halls as well as eating places. Magic of sharing and spreading experience. The actual values were the practical sides of the studies. As a pleasant bonus, as rumor says it, the BugHuntress team got a chance of seeing live Jessica Alba in Soha, NY. They almost got an autograph.
