Time to change the thermostat!

Time’s a changing! During this time of the year, clocks have moved back and hour to the standardized time, and when that occurs, it’s the best time for you to change the temperature settings on your thermostat. With most nights starting to get into the 70’s and high 60’s, it’s a good time to open up those windows and bring that home to a comfortable fall feeling.

Yes, sometimes your heat will smell a bit burnt. It’s extremely common for home owners to become alarmed when they turn on the heat for the first time of the year, and their centralized ac unit begins to emit a strong burning smell throughout the house. This isn’t a bad thing completely! The smell is simply dust that’s found a resting place on top of the heating coils and elements, and will go away rather quickly. If you find the smell lasts longer or is very strong, it’s time to schedule an appointment.

Switching ceiling fan direction. Believe it or not, there is a proper air flow setting built into your ceiling fan that is specifically designed for this time of year. During the summer months, it should be set to spin clockwise. But during the cooler months, the air flow setting needs to be adjusted to counter-clockwise which will allow the heat to be drawn up toward the ceiling and distribute throughout the room. Both settings help ac units function a little better.

Clean those filters! Spring cleaning isn’t the only time of year when you need to change your filters. After a summer of different dusts, pollen, and other irritants running through your home, take some time to change out the air filter in your home and ensure you’re keeping the best quality indoor air you can.

Last but not least, schedule a service tech! All too often we get to customers homes with problems that could have easily been prevented with a simple annual or bi-annual maintenance inspection. We provide round the clock service when you need it, and the experience and expertise you deserve. For More information visit: http://angelicac.com
