Miami-Dade County Public Schools to be Recognized with Diversity Spirit Achievement Award™

MIAMI - Sept. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- The Diversity Recruiter’s Network (http://diversityrecruitersnetwork.org/) and University of Phoenix announced today Miami-Dade County Public Schools will receive the Diversity Spirit Achievement Award™. They will be commended on Diversity Employment Day, Thursday, September 25, 2014 during The Diversity Practioners Roundtable to be held from 9 am to 10:45 am at Hyatt Regency Miami (400 S.E. Second Avenue, Miami, FL 33131).

The Diversity Recruiters Network’s Diversity Spirit Achievement Award™ is a national award program recognizing corporations, individuals, community organizations and media for actively supporting diversity in the community and workplace. The nomination criteria include having vision, creativity and active promotion of diversity and inclusion on a local and national level.

Montgomery (Administrative Director, Miami-Dade County Public Schools), Richard Dettling (Program Manager, School of Business, University of Phoenix), Kelly Charles Collins (Attorney, Hamilton, Miller & Birthisel), Annibal Naranjo (Training and Quality Assurance Director, Heico), Amy Klose (Program Administrator and Diversity, City of Miami), Dr. Veronica Ramsundar (Education Program Manager, Seminole Tribe of Florida), Ricardo Forbes (Chief Diversity Officer, Baptist Health South Florida) and Dr. Mathew Abraham (Learning and Development Director, The GEO Group). This invitation-only event is for employers, professional and community-based organizations and the media, held prior to the opening of the 14^th Annual Diversity Employment Day Career Fair.  Best practices for recruiting, promoting and retaining qualified employees from the Multicultural and Diverse communities will be explored.
