Follow on Google News | National Licensing Services joins Americans for Safe Access to Support Medical Marijuana BusinessesBy: National Licensing Services NLS has become a member of ASA and will use ASA’s trainings and recommendations as a jumping-off point to ensure safe and legal access throughout the State of Nevada. NLS will provide support to businesses throughout the state in all aspects regarding licensure, including giving licensed establishments a voice within state and local regulatory bodies. NLS, a local, independent, minority-owned Las Vegas business, is dedicated to providing guidance and expertise to individuals and companies seeking any and all State of Nevada medical marijuana, gaming and general or specialty business licenses. Americans for Safe Access (ASA) is a national organization whose goals are to resolve federal and state conflict on medical cannabis laws, ensure safe and legal access to medical cannabis therapy and research throughout the nation and end the stigma and discrimination associated with medical cannabis use and research. ASA provides training and education through online classes. “ASA certification gives you an understanding of the law, processes, and how to operate a safe business,” said Don Duncan, co-founder of ASA. “It is so important now as Nevada city, county and state politcal leaders draft their cannabis regulations that they make sure there are sufficient cultivation sites to meet the demand.” Duncan has been instrumental since 2002 in galvanizing grassroots efforts in the advancement of medical cannabis, working closely with elected officials, law enforcement, patients, providers and community leaders. He co-founded one of the oldest and most reputable families of medical marijuana dispensaries in California helping to open legal facilities in Berkeley, West Hollywood and Los Angeles. Lauren Payne, an advocate for the advancement of medical cannabis reforms, will be working with Duncan to help legislators and regulators understand the unique needs of medical cannabis patients and providers. She has successfully worked in recent years at some two dozen jurisdictions at the local, state and federal levels explaining the benefits of medical marijuana to lawmakers. NLS is also currently offering classes for individuals interested in learning more about medical marijuana. Scheduled classes include: The Core Cannabis Training Curriculum, Understanding Cannabis Law and The Business of Cannabis. “We are excited to be working with Don Duncan and proud of our membership with Americans for Safe Access. We look forward to promoting medical cannabis use in Nevada,” said Serina Choi, Marketing and Business Development Consultant with NLS. Over the years, NLS has helped many companies navigate through numerous regulation hurdles in obtaining the required state business licenses.
