New York’s Global Concepts Charter High School Celebrates Its Success & First Graduating Class

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Sept. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Opening its doors in 2010, Global Concepts Charter School is excited to bring in a new school year and prepare to say goodbye to its first graduating class.

Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system.

Global Concepts Charter School mission is to be a top-rated educational institution, helping ensure its students' academic progress meet and exceed the State's standards. Global High School wants to be known for their innovative curriculum that prepares students academically, as well as in character, for the world of their future.

97.5 % of students Graduated

32.5 % Graduated with an Advanced Regents Diploma

62.5% Graduated with Regents Diploma

2.5% Graduated with a Local Diploma

100% of students were accepted to at least 1 college

47.5% Committed to a 2 year College

32.5% Committed to a 4 year College

17.5% have other plans including employment, travel, vocational/trade school

This year 72 students graduated from Global Concepts Charter High School, having not just achieved the goals of the school but of their own potential as well. Buffalo Business First Magazine, which rates all public and private high schools that participate in the Regents testing program, even recognizes the achievements of Global Concepts academic accomplishments, citing that out of 135 schools it ranks at #95 (ahead of the only other charter school on the list which ranks #100)!

The distinction by the Buffalo Business First Magazine, along with the graduating of its first class highlights Global Concepts Charter High School’s goal of providing an innovative curriculum that prepares students academically, as well as fostering mutual respect and character, for the world of their future.
