Sept. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- Banks building banks will be quite the sight this Friday as local financial institutions come together to support one of the community’s most impactful programs, the ACE Scholarship Program.

Caprock High School students will work side-by-side with community volunteers to build 30 banks in which to collect donations.

To help reach ACE’s $2 million fundraising goal, these banks will be placed around Amarillo at businesses and schools. People will be able to easily support ACE by dropping change or a few spare dollars into the banks.

Participating banks include FirstCapital Bank Texas and FirstBank Southwest.

President and CEO of the Amarillo Area Foundation, Clay Stribling shares his gratitude for the banks’ support, “It isn’t always about making a monetary donation; volunteering makes a significant impact. We are extremely grateful to have local banks helping with this project.”

The banks will take on the “Build-a-Bank” project this Friday, October 3 at 9:00 am and 1:00 pm at The Shop located at 2401 Hobbs Road in Amarillo, TX. Special thanks goes out to The Shop and to Culligan of Amarillo for donating the use of their water jugs for this project.
