SRS Real Estate Partners and Cypress Equities Participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s

DALLAS - Oct. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- SRS Real Estate Partners (SRS) and Cypress Equities (Cypress) participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Dallas, Texas this past Saturday, October 4. The team had more than 30 walkers including friends and family that joined in to support the cause.

SRS and Cypress worked throughout the summer to bring awareness of Alzheimer’s to the Dallas area employees and brokers. For several months, the team collected funds towards the overall team goal of $5,000 to go to the Alzheimer’s Association for research and funding. Several weeks prior to the event, the team had surpassed that amount, raising 124% of their stated goal. Additionally, the Alzheimer’s Association hosted a lunch-and-learn seminar for the team where they delivered their 10 Signs of Alzheimer’s presentation. The team also learned about the Alzheimer’s Association and how the funds collected are allocated to research and support programs.

Leading up to the week of the walk, Promise Flowers were displayed in the office to allow team members to write a message of hope and support. Promise Flowers are typically available only on the day of the walk, and come in four colors, each signifying a different reason for supporting the cause. The SRS/Cypress team was given the opportunity to display them for a whole week to demonstrate how we are all affected by the disease in one way or another. Flowers were then collected and brought to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s event to be carried by the team’s walkers for the entirety of the 5K.
