Follow on Google News | Stellar Art Foundation and C&C Alpha Group Pay Homage to M F Husain at the St. Moritiz Art MastersBy: C&C Alpha Group The Exhibition is yearly feature during the last week of August. This particular year, the region-wide exhibition boasted the footfall of 30,000 visitors. It served as an introductory platform to some of the most popular artists of the country like Manish Nai, Nalini Milani, Shilpa Gupta and Duboh Gupta. Visitors from across the globe were taken through the steered Walks of Art. The helm of this perky exhibition was the three-artist show from the Stellar International Art Foundation which maneuvered to link the contrasting entities, ranging from contemporary to modern, India to Europe, and the sublime to the earthly. The first room brimmed with the vivacious collection from Delhi-based Paresh Maity, known for his incandescence and vibrancy with colours. Paresh infused his vibrant style to bring India to his delineations of Venice, Japan, Iceland and Alaska. In blatant juxtaposition to these lively portraits stood his only oil-bound depiction of India hinting at the inundated landscape of the country. The assortment and the luminosity of this selection vouched for its stellar status at the event. The second place was taken by Maity’s wife, Jayasri Burman whose works infused strong spiritual transcendence. Her presentation of Buddha in the hotel lobby made for a “veritable shrine”. The space blushing with the green, golden, yellow and the silver tapered the organic brightness of the corridor. Communicating her ethereal style, Burman’s work clearly sworn by her persistence, as was evident in her comprehensive and intricate representations. What made the Art Master’s all the more special was the tribute to late M F Husain and the unveiling of the private collection by patrons C&C Alpha and the Choudhrie family. In all, the event offered some 100 works by the pronounced artist. The high point was the famous Maria Collection, the woman whom he termed as the “purest” love of his life. It was the first time that this compendium was opened for the public eye, rightfully patting the efforts of the Choudhrie family, CCAG, and of course the Art Masters and the Stellar Art Foundation which contributed most to this art festival. Commissioned by the Stellar Art Foundation, the event also saw the launch of MF Husain: The Journey of the Legend. Introduced first by Kishore Singh and then officially by Sharmila Tagore who was in fact one of the chummiest and keen supporters of Husain. Kishore Singh, the head of publications and exhibition at the Delhi Art Gallery penned a profuse book including all the 300 works contribute by Husain himself to the Stellar Art Foundation. The book being the most cogent biography of any artist throws light on his heart-warming liaison with the Choudhrie family’s Anita Choudhrie, the founder of the Stellar Art Foundation. End
