ALLEN, Texas - Oct. 13, 2014 - PRLog -- Bullying is a rising concern among parents in America. Children are often teased and bullied by other children in school and on social media websites. Bullying often has lasting results and is something that leads to tragedy. According to stopbullying.gov, a website that provides information from various government agencies on what bullying is, what cyberbullying is, who is at risk, and how you can prevent and respond to bullying, "Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance."

New children's book author, Whitni M. Richardson, decided to join the anti-bullying campaign by writing a story that many children can identify with. The Story of Leggs: I'm Being Bullied (NyreePress, 978-0990366515, $12.99), a rhyming children's story has released during National Bullying Prevention Month. Richardson has created this children's book to equip parents and children with literature to prevent bullying and help children tell an adult if they are being bullied.

"The story of Leggs is going to help many children feel comfortable telling an adult if they are in a bullying situation," says Kennisha Hill, the CEO of NyreePress Literary Group. "I'm thankful Ms. Richardson has a heart to help the next generation make strides to prevent bullying and encourage healthy friendships."

About the book:
Leggs is a giraffe who has encountered problems at school with a bully who teases him because of his long legs. One day, Leggs saw his friend Ears getting teased too, but he saw that Ears was not bothered. He sought advice from his friend Ears and learned a valuable lesson. In this rhyming story, Leggs learns that he is unique and that it's ok to stand up to bullies. The advice that Leggs learns will become an excellent resource to young readers. By reading these distinctive children's books, children should not only be able to relate the information presented to their lives, but also develop a place for Leggs within their hearts.

About the author:
Whitni found solace within the psychology field at an early age. She became immediately intrigued by the human mind an the subsequent effects on behavior. Even with Whitni's new found interest, and wanting to become a psychologist; she wanted to set herself aside from most of the professionals within the field. She then decided to incorporate her love for creative writing with psychology and now strives to perform bibliotherapy. This is the first of many children’s books within a series that will be created.
