Media Advisory: Pete Hamill Honored at NYC Event on Monday, Oct. 20 in NYC

NEW YORK - Oct. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- What: Irish American Writers & Artists will present their annual Eugene O’Neill Lifetime Achievement Award to honor the accomplishments of a writer that has sustained a body of work that best exemplifies the level of integrity maintained by O’Neill. O’Neill Awards have been presented to Pulitzer-prize winning author William Kennedy, actor Brian Dennehy, Charlotte Moore and Ciarán O’Reilly of New York’s Irish Repertory Theatre, folksinger Judy Collins, and playwright John Patrick Shanley.

Who: Pete Hamill: In a storied career spanning fifty years, Hamill has excelled as a newspaper reporter and columnist who also served as editor of both the New York Daily News and the New York Post. Hamill is an award-winning novelist and a best-selling author of many non-fiction books on subjects ranging from Mexican muralist Diego Rivera to Frank Sinatra to his beloved home borough of Brooklyn.

Scheduled to join Pete Hamill in the celebration will be past O’Neill Award honorees Judy Collins, William Kennedy, Ciarán O’Reilly and Charlotte Moore as well as many other notables from Hamill’s wide circle of friends.

When: Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 from 6 PM to 10 PM

Where: The Manhattan Club, upstairs at Rosie O’Grady’s, 800 7th Avenue at the corner of 52nd St., north of Times Square.
