Follow on Google News | Odyssey Consortium Leader Confirms Commitment to Intensify Efforts of Black First InitiativeOdyssey Consortium founder and COO, Dr. Rick Wallace, Ph.D., confirms that the multifaceted enterprise is committed to intensifying efforts to push the Black First Initiative and the concept of a New Black Wall Street, despite sluggish fundraising
By: The Odyssey Consortium When questioned about the sluggish fundraising results, Dr. Wallace was succinct and direct in his response; “Myself and my colleagues are 100 percent committed to this cause. I have partnered with men who understand what it takes to get the job done. We are not encumbered by the illusion of ease and comfort. We knew that there would be challenges and difficulties.” The difficulties that Dr. Wallace speaks of is the fact that the enterprise has only been able to raise 2,900 dollars in five months. That is significant when their weekly projected expenditures exceed $2,700.00. This does not include several projects that they already have on the calendar. With all expenditures being considered, the Odyssey Consortium has a projected budget of $250,000 through the first quarter of 2015. This does not include their drive to acquire property in Houston and Detroit for the sake of community development. At current, the projects that the Odyssey Consortium have on the table are being funded by the business endeavors of Dr. Wallace. In a statement released by Dr. Wallace, he discussed the Odyssey Consortium’s plans to implement a 5-step program that includes: · 1. Black Group Economics practiced vertically · 2. Development of political influence through the use of wealth obtained through group economics · 3. Influencing policy in the court systems and police departments through the influence obtained through the political arena · 4. The acquisition of mass media capacity to control the image of blacks and information that is fed to blacks on a regular basis. This is major in combating the current negative propaganda campaigns currently being run by white mainstream media · 5. The development of a national private school system that is designed around the unique needs of black students — educating black youth to develop skills that will prepare them to bypass jobs with fortune 500 companies in lieu of building their own corporations to rival the existing white-owned corporations. The Odyssey Consortium has an official site that serves as a one-stop-shop of resources and information on everything black. Readers can visit the official site at http://www.TheOdysseyProject21.com. When asked why he is so passionate about that fact, Dr. Wallace responded, “This man has literally put two generations of his progeny through college from the black blood he spilled on August 9th.” He says that blacks must be just as committed to supporting their own as whites are about supporting Wilson. He also added, “Honestly, I am not upset with whites for supporting Darren Wilson, because they are actually doing what should come naturally — self-preservation. What I am upset about is the fact that blacks will not do the same thing. Everyone donating to Darren Wilson doesn’t like him, they simply hate us, and that is their way of sending a message that we will not win. Blacks must send our own message that we are in the fight! That is what this is about.” Watch this interview: https://www.youtube.com/ You can support this movement at http://www.GoFundMe.com/ End
