By: Nevada Comprehensive Pain Center Donations for the “2014 Sweaters For Seniors” clothing drive may be dropped off through December 13th at four Nevada Comprehensive Pain Center locations: 2809 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas; 7730 W. Cheyenne Ave., Suite 107, Las Vegas; 1655 W. Horizon Ridge Pkwy., Henderson; and 1569 E. Flamingo Road, Las Vegas. “Hyperthermia is one of the leading causes of death among senior citizens,” said Dr. Alain Coppel, founder of NVCPC. “With the freezing temperatures of winter rapidly approaching, many of our seniors lack the proper clothing to keep warm. A simple gift of a new sweater or blanket will not only save lives, but also warm the hearts of all those who choose to donate this holiday season.” Sweaters and blankets must be new, unopened and in the plastic. For more information on how to donate, please contact Janet Zak, Director of Marketing at: 702-476-9999. NVCPC recently sponsored its first annual “Community Appreciation Day” in which some 300 healthcare professionals, seniors, politicians and current and former patients came together to help raise funds to benefit the Las Vegas Opportunity Village charity. The event, which was free and open to the public, featured complimentary breakfast, entertainment, a tour of the NVCPC Summerlin office and a raffle. Participating healthcare vendors also were available to answer questions about health-related products and services. Founded in 2006, Nevada Comprehensive Pain Center is one of the leading medical centers specializing in the treatment of pain and pain-related conditions. All treating physicians are Board Certified and Fellowship trained in interventional spine and pain management. Medical personnel have received their training from the most highly regarded educational institutions such as George Washington University, Cornell University, The University of Chicago Hospitals and Johns Hopkins Hospital.
