Preying For Mercy Film Writer Art Hall

LOS ANGELES - Nov. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Art Hall obtained a Bachelors Degree in Theatre Performance in 2006 but his journey into the realm if storytelling and filmmaking began much earlier. Growing up he could often be found with the family VHS camera making short films with his friends. At the age of 20 he cowrote, produced and directed his first feature length film, a comedy entitled The Money Shot, a project in which he also starred.

Since then he has co-produced and performed in various projects including short films, a web series, and most recently the pilot of Preying for Mercy, where he once again took up residence at the keyboard to cowrite the tale of a man trying to outrun a dark past which inevitably catches up with him and his family.

The evolution of the story of Preying for Mercy dates back to 2010 when Art met Jayson Gladstone at the Howard Fine Acting Studio. Becoming fast friends, the two took to discussing films and stories as well as the craft of acting. It wasn't until Art was helping Jay change apartments that the two decided to venture on a project together. Jayson shared two film ideas he had with Art and from there they began to brainstorm. Over the. Next 3 years the story evolved, locations were drastically changed as were the primary characters. One theme that remained consistent through the project's development was that of a dark and violent past, one which despite all efforts could never be escaped. The themes of deception, paranoia and vengeance also remained and were employed to various degrees.

Along the way Jayson reconnected with an old friend and colleague of his, David Wenzel. Through their collective efforts and David's industry connections and knowledge, Bill Duke was brought on to direct and Martha Byrne to portray the central character's conflicted wife.

Preying For Mercy has signed a distribution deal with Echelon Studios and Onward and Sideways Media. Preying For Mercy is currently available worlwide on Vimeo On Demand.
