SEBANE Praises Governor Elect Baker’s Nominee for Secretary of Energy & Environmental AffairsBy: SEBANE PELHAM, Mass. - Nov. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- The Solar Energy Business Association of New England (SEBANE) praises Massachusetts Governor-Elect Charlie Baker’s selection of Representative Matthew Beaton to be the next Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs. For more than a decade, SEBANE has been representing solar companies doing business in Massachusetts.
SEBANE president Tom Thompson praised the choice. “We are impressed by Representative Beaton’s background and experience, most especially by his having installed a solar energy system on his Massachusetts home – the first Passive House certified in the Commonwealth. Passive House is the most rigorous standard in the world for energy efficiency and quality,” Thompson said. “This level of commitment to clean energy underscores Rep. Beaton’s leadership in the clean energy industry.” Thompson also noted that Rep. Beaton’s voting record in the legislature has earned him a 100% rating from the Massachusetts Audubon Society, based on the Society’s recommended votes on environmental and energy issues. Asked if he had any initial top priorities, Beaton told the State House News Service he will “…work with the entire administration to figure out where we want to take things and continue the legacy of Massachusetts as a leader in clean renewable energy and energy efficiency."
