Santa Clara Ballet Presents the Nutcracker, December 13-14

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Nov. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- SANTA CLARA, CA, November 20, 2014 – Santa Clara Ballet Company is pleased to announce its 41^st annual production of its Nutcracker Ballet at the Santa Clara Convention Center Theater on December 13-14, 2014. The annual production of Benjamin Reyes'  full-length, traditional version of the ballet is a holiday favorite with sparkling choreography  to the renowned music of P.I. Tchaikovsky.   This classic production follows the magical journey of young Clara, who receives a nutcracker as a gift at her family's Christmas Eve party. Later that night, her nutcracker magically transforms into a handsome prince, who leads her through an enchanted forest and on to the Nutcracker Prince's Kingdom.

The Santa Clara Ballet Company, now in its 41^st year, spotlights acclaimed professionals alongside company soloists and pre-professional students from the Santa Clara Ballet School as well as other schools and dance companies throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

Andre Reyes, former principal dancer, San Francisco Ballet, will return to perform with the Santa Clara Ballet Company, joined by Marcos Vedovetto, dancer and choreographer with Dance Theatre of San Francisco, Sharon Kung, with Dance Theatre of San Francisco and Mikhail Guz, with Firebird Dance Studio and a soloist with the Santa Clara Ballet Company.  Jack Hawn, from Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, will partner as the Cavalier with Rowan Allegra Reyes, who will reprise her role as the Sugarplum Fairy, which she debuted in 2010 at the age of 15 alongside her father Andre Reyes.

Saturday December 13, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
