LOS ANGELES - Dec. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Showcasing the top comedians across the country, The Legendary Ice House Comedy Club has just released two full length DVD’s from their 50th Anniversary All Star Comedy Review.  The show features 18 of what is being called the next generation of comedy superstars.  These comedians are some of the top comedy headliners across the country and are sure to be the legends of tomorrow.

The Ice House has always been a home to upcoming comedians.  From 1960 to 1978 The Ice House was one of the top folk music clubs in the country with acts coming from around the country to perform. During that same time, many famous comedians also appeared at the club. In 1978 the original owners were bought out by a trio of investors led by Bob Fisher who changed the format of the club to stand up comedy.

The Ice House continues to thrive and during its many decades of operation has entertained over four million people. Among those who have recorded some of the more than 75 live albums at the club are the Smothers Brothers, Gallagher, Lily Tomlin, Pat Paulsen, Richard Jeni and George Lopez. Other comedians who have performed at the club include: Bob Newhart, George Carlin, Robin Williams, David Letterman, Jim Carrey, Jay Leno, Dennis Miller, Howie Mandel, Jerry Seinfeld, Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, Ellen DeGeneres, Garry Shandling, Sinbad, Bill Maher, Shia LaBeouf, Gabe Kaplan, Paula Poundstone, Rosie O'Donnell, Cheech & Chong, Tim Allen, Paul Rodriguez, Dana Carvey, Joey Diaz, Don Barnhart, Brad Garrett, and Joe Rogan.

There was so much raw, awesome and funny talent on the Ice House Comedy Club’s 50th Anniversary Show, it had to be broken up into two separate DVDs.  Each DVD features 9 of America’s most hilarious comics and this All Star Comedy Review actually proves just how funny, funny can be.

“If this doesn’t make you laugh, you’re not from planet Earth”, said Bob Fisher.  Fisher has owned the club since 1978 and continues to operate the club keeping a close eye on the quality of talent.

The quality of talent of the Ice House 50th Anniversary Show extends beyond the stage and is a collaboration of Producer Bob Fisher, Producer Jan Maxwell Smith and Producer, Director and Award Winning Comedian Don Barnhart.  Jan Maxwell Smith was one of the owners of the club from 1978-1983

Besides being one of the 18 comics featured in the All Star Comedy Show, Don Barnhart serves as one of the producers and director of the special. Over the last year, the comedian, actor, writer and director’s career has really been gaining steam as he stars in the documentary, Finding The Funny with Brad Garret and Louie Anderson and plays a rather disgruntled, road weary and carefree comedian in the upcoming comedy film, Tribute To Fluffy.  The award-winning comedian is currently in preproduction on the new comedy film, The Freeloader, which he wrote and stars in.

The Las Vegas Review/Journal recently named Don Barnhart’s comedy show one of their “Best Bets” and he just finished headlining the 2014 Laughlin Comedy Festival alongside Larry The Cable Guy. Barnhart’s stand up show consists of well written topical material and is delivered with an animated flair that keeps audiences of all ages howling with laughter and coming back for more.  Audiences say that Barnhart has the wit of George Carlin with the delivery of Jim Carey making him funny on so many levels.

Barnhart is a regular headliner on the Las Vegas strip and is a favorite performer for many of the top corporate events around the world including The World President’s Organization, AFLAC, AA/NA, DARE, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and many more.  Since his first USO tour back in 1992, Barnhart has been performing and producing comedy shows for the troops around the world bringing both celebrities and the next generation of comedy superstars to the men and women serving in the armed forces.  Barnhart’s recent tours for the troops include comedy legend, George Wallace, The All Star Comedy Tour and American Idol Finalist Singer James Durbin.

Don is also the producer, director and comedian on The Freedom of Speech Comedy Series and writer, director and star of the indie film China Dolls.  He is the author of Comedy 101, Creating The Life You Desire and The Freeloader.  He is a contributing author on I Killed and is a graduate of The Second City Conservatory in Los Angeles.  Don Barnhart is a certified hypnotist performing both a stand up and comedy hypnosis show.  In 2007, Don was the crowned The Grand Champion in The American Idol Underground Comedy Contest and has been seen on MTV, Star Search, and Evening At The Improv .  He has been featured on ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC and Don Barnhart is a Bob and Tom Show favorite.  His comedy CD, I’m Not Just Eye Candy can be heard frequently on all of the comedy channels on XM/Sirius Satellite Radio.

The Ice House 50th Anniversary DVD featuring interviews, insights and more from Bob Fisher, Jan Maxwell Smith and previous owner Bob Stane.  Stane owned the club from 1960-1978 when it was more music driven but was also home to then up and coming comedians Steve Martin, The Smother’s Brothers and more.
