Dec. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Apogee Communications Group announces that many NuAlert Automated Fallout Measurement Stations (AFS) and NukAlert Data Gateways are now sending real time radiation measurements to FEMA’s RadResponder Network as part of their Beta API test (visit us at http://www.apogeevideo.com/ for details). The AFS also is capable of shutting off air intakes to building HVAC systems through a connection to BACnet. The AFS can send text and email notifications of radiation levels to multiple users. The NukAlert-ER Geiger counter and AFS measure radiation from 1µR/hr to 700R/hr. as verified by Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

The successful response to a radiation incident requires a coordinated effort across all levels of government. A crucial component of this response is the rapid collection and organization of the data that are needed to characterize the incident and support lifesaving decisions. FEMA’s RadResponder tool provides resources for federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial organizations responding to these emergencies.
