Professor Majid Naini has Special Program on Rumi's Wedding Night

LOS ANGELES - Dec. 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Dr. Majid Naini gave a magnificent talk on Radio Iran, Los Angeles, on Wednesday December 17, 2014 on a very special Asraneh program in memory of Rumi. Every year on December 17, people from all over the world celebrate the night of Rumi's passing from this world, called Shabe Arus, especially in Konya, Turkey where Rumi was laid to rest.

Professor Majid M. Naini (Persian: مجید نایینی) is the internationally renowned scholar of Rumi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumi), the 13th century Persian mystic, poet, and sage. Rumi has been the best-selling poet in the U.S. and around the world for the past many years. Dr. Majid  Naini received his B.S. Degree in Electronics Engineering and his Master's Degree in Computer Science. He has a PhD in Computer Engineering and Information Technology from the University of Pennsylvania, the birthplace of ENIAC, the first general purpose electronic computer. For most of the past 30 years Dr. Naini has been a Professor, Program Director, Laboratory Director, Department Chair, and University Dean at several universities throughout the world, such as University of Pennsylvania, Hawaii, Colorado, Florida, Oman, and Cairo in the fields of Computer Science, Engineering, and Information Technology. Professor Naini has been a researcher and the designer of computer and information technology projects with multi-national corporations. He has obtained grants and contracts from funding organizations and industries for research and development of high-tech products.

Professor Naini has lived and taught in four continents. For over 30 years Dr. Naini has been a student of mysticism (erfun), poetry, literature, history, traditions and cultures. Professor Naini has been a keynote speaker at over 500 national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, symposia, and talk shows. In the U.S., he has presented workshops and lectures at the United Nations, and the most prestigious universities and cultural centers. Dr. Naini frequently appears on numerous radio and TV shows, and he has unique weekly radio programs on KIRN 960 AM, Los Angeles about poetry, science, technology,and mysticism. Professor Naini’s work is used by around half a million websites all over the world, and his work is cited and quoted by numerous websites, radio/TV programs, and printed materials.
