By: Animal Alliance of Beverly Hills Ellen Lavinthal – An Animal Rights Goddess Her motto: Until we educate the masses, the world will still keep doing the same thing and will reap the same results-- unnecessary pain and suffering for so many sentient beings. And what have you done today for charity? Phil Scheniderman, Ellen’s father use to ask his young daughter on a daily basis. From there on, I learned that charity plays a very important role in one’s life, commented Ellen Lavinthal. Today Ellen is putting up $50,000 in matching contributions of her personal money to help launch her latest challenge together with a wonderful group of activists: An animal Museum in the heart of Los Angeles to create awareness and teach humans that we must respect all kinds of animal life. As an adult Ellen turned into a fearless animal rights activist, defiant and resilient, her persistence has been unprecedented. An Angel straight from Beverly Hills, Ellen a well-known socialite, is an animal rights goddess. After graduating from USC Law School, Ellen Lavinthal assumed the presidency of Animal Alliance (www.animalalliance.net) a Los Angeles based animal rescue and advocacy organization she has headed up for the past 19 years. Her organization has also joined forces with national animal welfare groups in opposition to puppy mills, the fur trade and elephants in captivity. Additionally, Ellen instituted programs to help provide low income family pets with spay and neuter surgeries and necessary medical and to provide cat food to caretakers of feral colonies throughout the city. Between organizing “Fur-Free Hollywood” events, rescuing death row and abused animals, writing monthly columns and hosting a web show. Today THE ANIMAL MUSEUM IS MOVING to a MUCH LARGER SPACE and Ellen needs help: Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could expose students with their open minds, tourists and friends to these animal protection issues: *Contributing factors to pet over-population— *Factory Farming and alternative food sources. *Animals in Entertainment— *Animals in Fashion—fur, skins, ivory. *Cosmetic Testing and alternative testing and products *Victories in our movement as we highlight the many successes your organization has achieved in the struggle for the rights of all animals. WELL NOW WE CAN AND YOU CAN HELP MAKE IT POSSIBLE!!!! The National Museum of Animals & Society is greatly expanding and moving to a new, higher profile location close to Museum Row, allowing space for all the above permanent exhibits and many more rotating ones!
