Follow on Google News | Door Renew success leads to launch of franchisingWith 4 successful locations in operation, Door Renew refines systems to franchise its door restoration service.
By: Door Renew Matt Eggenberger, founder of Door Renew, developed the concept over a number of years. Eggenberger was one of the first franchisees in Mr. Handyman, now a national brand. When a customer needed their front door renewed he would dispatch a technician who did what everyone did; lightly sand, re-stain and then apply a coat of varnish. Six months later the customer inevitably called back because the door was again peeling and faded. Over the years Eggenberger developed the Door Renew process which provides a beautiful, long-lasting finish. As word spread others showed interest in operating a Door Renew business. In addition to the original Cincinnati location Door Renew now has a location in Kentucky and two in Michigan. “Doors get beat up by sun, rain, snow and exposure causing them to fade, peel and crack. Our process restores a door to its original beauty for about a third the cost of replacement,” With experience as both a franchisee and franchisor, Eggenberger quickly recognized the potential that Door Renew holds for those with a dream of business ownership. As Matt explained, “There’s a strong need for this service but very few who provide it the right way. Startup costs are minimal and the business scales as revenue increases, preserving cash flow. There’s a tremendous sense of satisfaction when a door is finished, a satisfaction I rarely experienced in corporate life.” Eggenberger and his team have prepared the training manuals, videos, checklists and forms that new franchisees will need. Marketing materials, programs and partners help new businesses generate awareness in their markets. A week-long hands-on program at the Cincinnati training center teaches the Door Renew process. What type of person would succeed with a Door Renew business? One of the existing businesses is female owned so gender is not a barrier. Nor does one need to be a carpenter or have other trades background. “Someone with basic DIY skills, a sense for customer service and a desire to open the door to a new future is ideal,” said Matt. Those in mid/upper-management positions who see little room for growth within their company, and absolutely zero prospects outside, have shown significant interest in starting their own Door Renew business. As Matt explained, “They no longer want to work hard doing what they have to do, they want to start doing what they want to do.” For more information on Door Renew visit their website at www.doorrenew.com. or email info@doorrenew.com.
