NWI Comic Con | Pop Culture & Comic Artshow Promo Pre-Event | 1-21-15

WHITING, Ind. - Jan. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- In preparation for the Northwest Indiana Comic Convention in February, the producers are staging a pre-event gallery exhibition to introduce some of the artists and assist in promoting the main attraction.

“As the show runner of the 2015 NWI Comic-Con I think ‘pre-show’ events are important to assist in building up excitement for the main event. This ‘Pop Culture & Comic Art Show’ fits within our theme and showcases the talents of local area artists. Some of which are also guests of the upcoming comic book convention," remarked Brian Grabinski, organizer of the NWI Comic Con.

The opening reception will be on Wednesday, January 21st between 5-9pm. It is being hosted at the Bernard Gallery inside of the Calumet College of St. Joseph which is located at 2400 New York Avenue in Whiting, Indiana. Admission is free to the public!

This group art show contains the amazing pop-culture and comic book related artwork of many talented individuals both professional and novice. Some local participants include Adam Farster, Celina Barajas, Chris Guzman, Derek Horsley, Julio A. Guerra, Tom Kelly and others.

"Hosting this event at the Calumet College of St. Joseph has so much meaning. This event brings awareness to the current students about the NWI Comic-Con. It reaches out to those whom might not have known about it. This show allows them to experience some examples of artwork from some of the people that will be at the convention in a more intimate setting. In all, this art show will appeal to many and open doors to those whom have always wanted to see this type of artwork," said Julio A. Guerra, artist and owner of La Guerra De Arte.
