SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Jan. 14, 2015 - PRLog -- Saint Katherine College believes that one mark of a college campus is its commitment to diversity and the practice of recognizing and valuing the rich experiences and world views of individuals and groups.

As a Christ-centered school, the College is respectful of diversity, because Christ intends His Church to be multiethnic, multicultural and a multinational body of believers. The College’s goal is a purposeful transformation to the image of Christ. Rather than embracing concepts like tolerance, the College is called to build a Christian community. Such a community should model the reality of the body of Christ, inclusive of diverse people of God using varied gifts for God’s glory. The policies and values of such a Christ-centered college should reflect the biblical mandate to be ministers of reconciliation, and to bring about genuine unity within a diverse world. Because of the core mission of Saint Katherine College, it is a defining feature of our campus to embrace diversity as a source of strength. The differences in race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, language, abilities/disabilities, socioeconomic status, and geographic region, and more, build our culture and contribute to the fulfillment of our academic mission.

SKC is an undergraduate college of liberal arts and sciences that focuses its integrative teaching in the core subjects of Composition, English Language and Literature, Foreign Language, American Government and History, Economics, Mathematics, and the Sciences in addition to instruction in concentration-specific degree requirements. Outstanding teaching and research—with relevance to the practical world and Christian witness as guiding principles—is our primary purpose- inquiry seeking wisdom.

College programs encompass several academic disciplines and degree-granting programs, as well as interdisciplinary collaborations, laboratories, and programs whose work cuts across traditional departmental boundaries. We realize these aims in a singularly collegial, interdisciplinary atmosphere, while educating outstanding students to become creative members of society. Saint Katherine College is independent, coeducational, not-for-profit and privately endowed. The College admits students of all religious and faith backgrounds.
