Follow on Google News | Dallas Teen Sensation Enhances Wish for this Years Recipient of the Spirit of Tom Landry AwardBy: Dylan Rey As excited as Brooklynn Alexander is to write and record with Dylan, he is the one that feels so blessed to be able to give the gift of music to this very special young lady. Brooklyn Alexander is currently in Dallas receiving the very prestigious Spirit of Tom Landry Character Award. As part of her visit she will spend Monday, January 19th writing, producing and recording a song that they will collaborate. Dylan Rey just wrapped up shooting his music video in Los Angeles and opened for Disney Star, Diggy Simmons and is set to Join the Teen Nation Tour. She was was in the top 15% of her class, treasurer of the student council, a member of the regional choir and on the varsity soccer team at MacArthur High School. She did not have time for a blood cancer diagnosis. Right away she realized how much her life would change during her cancer treatment. She had to stop playing soccer because she didn't have the energy to run and she missed choir auditions because radiation treatment temporarily took her voice. Even with these setbacks, Brooklynn decided that she was going to pour all of her energy into school work so she would not fall behind. Her dedication paid off! She graduated magna cum laude in the top 8% of her class and was inducted into the National Honor Society. Brooklynn, who has been in remission now for two years, is now a freshman at the University of Kansas and is just as community minded as she was before her lymphoma diagnosis. She is involved with the Freshman Action Team and active in a youth help call line called BALLEN (Building A Life Lifting Educated Nation). Her efforts with BALLEN were noticed and this November she will have her own radio show once a month where she shares her personal experiences in an effort to help other students. About Dylan Rey: Dylan Rey’s music career began at the age of 10, singing with his church choir. By the age of 12, he was a trained musician vocally and instrumentally with the piano, guitar, bass, ukulele, and saxophone. Dylan is a part of the Septien Entertainment Group Master’s Program, under the training of Linda Septien (Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Beyonce) and WT Greer (seen on The Oprah Winfrey Show). Dylan will be joining the Teen Nation Tour, who just wrapped up their 2014 tour after visiting over 1.3 million teens in schools across the U.S. Dylan also just released his brand new single, Gray- produced by Music A&R and multiple platinum, double Grammy Music Producer , Andrew Lane. Dylan Rey also recently performed at the Ryan Seacrest studios at the Dallas Childrens Hospital. In addition to all of this Dylan just wrapped shooting his music video in LA for his new song She Gets Me . While in LA Dylan just opened for Diggy Simmons, Jacob Latimore, and Trevor Jackson from Disney and hosted by Zandaya from The Disney Channel. Dylan Rey will join the Teen nation tour January 19th when the tour kicks off in his hometown of Dallas following that stop he will then he will head to in the Houston, San Antonio, Salt Lake, Las Vegas, Phoenix and many more cities. Dylan looks forward to being a role model to other teens out there not just with bullying but helping others become more understanding and compassionate of others, this is something that is especially close to Dylan’s heart.
