Follow on Google News | Dr. Rick Wallace Announces New Book DealAuthor, public speaker and relationship and life enrichment counselor, Dr. Rick Wallace, Ph.D. announces his new one-book deal with Ettelloc Publishing.
By: Dr. Rick Wallace, Ph.D. According to Dr. Wallace, he views this new endeavor as an opportunity to invest himself into what enjoys more than anything else, research and writing, while allowing another entity to focus on the back end responsibilities associated with getting the work published. He further iterated that the fact that Ettelloc publishing is a black-owned publishing company played a significant role in helping him determine his decision. The preliminary title of the book is “The Miseducation of Black Youth in America: From the Playground to the Prison,” and it highlights two major components of white supremacy’s quest to oppress and destroy the black race — the Miseducation of our youth, including the disproportionate designation of learning disabilities for black boys, and the direct correlation this has to the Private Prison Industrial Complex. As a part of the announcement, Dr. Wallace issued the following statement: “To say that I am excited about this endeavor would be a gross understatement. It is no secret that I love my people unapologetically, and I consider it an absolute responsibility to bring to light the machinations of white supremacy as they apply to the Miseducation of our youth. In order for a group of people to overcome a state of oppression, they must have, at least, a functional perspicacity of the pernicious concepts they must combat; however, it is important that this work not only reveal the challenges that we are facing in this area, but it must also provide lucid and practical solutions. I applaud the focus and direction of AO Green and Ettelloc publishing as they take actions that are indicative of the type of progressive thought that is necessary to effectively initiate change.” In his quest to remain active and involved, Dr. Wallace also revealed that, as a part of the Odyssey Consortium's Community Infustion Program, he will be producing and co-hosting both, a radio show and cable TV show this year. The radio show — The Black Voice — and the TV show — The Pulse with Dr. Rick Wallace, will both be focused on engaging the enigmatic issues that are plaguing the black community. When questioned about the busy path that he has taken, he simply responded, “I don’t believe in idle time; if I am up, I am working. You don’t topple a giant through wishful thinking; you topple a giant through developing the strength, mechanisms and strategies to systematically break down that giant.” To learn more about the Odyssey Consortium's Community Infusion Program, visit: http://www.theodysseyproject21.com/ End
