AlphaOne & Swami Vivekananda Drug De-Addiction Centre Successfully Conclude the 2nd Say No to Drugs

AMRITSAR, India - Jan. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- AlphaOne, Swami Vivekananda Drug De-Addiction & Treatment Centre and Volunteers of Amritsar Sparkling, successfully conducted the 2^nd drive of ‘Say No to Drugs’ Campaign on January 23rd at Maqbool Pura to create awareness about the dreaded drug habit. More than 35 volunteers including Doctors, Team AlphaOne and Volunteers of “Amritsar Sparkling - Be the Change” participated in the campaign. The team went door-to-door to create awareness about the assistance available for de-addiction, medical facilities, treatments, mobile vans, ambulances and counseling available to them at Pulse Hospital in Maqbool Pura. The volunteers distributed leaflets to educate the people about De-addiction and the civic drive, “Amritsar Sparkling” and motivated the residents to keep their area clean. The team interacted and explained the value of this drive to the residents who came out in support and agreed with the importance of the message. A team of doctors from Swami Vivekananda Drug De-Addiction & Treatment Centrealso held counseling sessions for drug awareness as well as met patients in the privacy of their homes.

Dr. Prodipta Sen, Executive Director, Alpha G:Corp thanked the Doctors of Swami Vivekananda Drug De-Addiction & Treatment Centre and the scores of Volunteers for taking the noble initiative to create awareness about the dreaded drug habit.“This is a collaborative effort on our part along with like minded partners for our ongoing civic and social initiatives, ‘Amritsar Sparkling’ and ‘Be The Change’. This collaborative initiative will continue to reinforce and increase awareness about the importance of good health and fitness among the residents as well as meaningfully and consistently educate people about the dreaded drug habit. AlphaOne and Swami Vivekananda Drug De-Addiction & Treatment Centrewill regularly organize awareness drives on a constant basis. There has already been a glimmer of hope by way of a new determination among drug users in the area to banish the drug habit. Over 50 people have been treated and 8 have been certified fit to work by the Doctors since the last ‘Say No to Drugs’ drive that was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Ravi Bhagat on November 14, 2014 in Maqbool Pura to combat drug abuse in Amritsar.
