By: Alta Lodge Safe travel while in the backcountry is a must, and this course teaches the fundamentals during three full days of backcountry touring. Guests learn avalanche awareness, beacon rescue, safe route selection, efficient skinning on skis and split boards, and downhill technique, while experiencing legendary Utah backcountry touring. Guide to client ratio is 1:3. Participants may bring their own backcountry gear or coordinate rentals through Utah Mountain Adventures. Ski routes are dependent on weather and snow conditions. The clinic includes: three days ski guiding, four nights of lodging in a standard room, full breakfast and four-course dinner daily, and box lunches on backcountry days; yoga is also included in the March clinic. The all-inclusive package rates are $2,093 per person, double occupancy, or $2,681. Other accommodations are also available. Taxes and Lodge service charge are included.
