Follow on Google News | Still Point Art Gallery Opens "Chasing the Light (Finding the Shadow)"By: Shanti Arts The exhibition shows the work of thirty artists from around the world; over one hundred paintings, photographs, and mixed media pieces. Five artists received special recognition. Ralph Hassenpflug of Maine was awarded Best in Show-Portfolio for his collection of seven dream-like, black-and-white photographs. Carol Gooberman of New Jersey was awarded Best in Show-Single Image for her painting, On the Lookout. In addition, Irene Hill, from Florida, won the award for Best Photograph for her image, Egg in Spoon. Dan Pyle of New York won Best Drawing for his charcoal piece, Shadows. Claire Lewis Evans of Georgia won Best Three-Dimensional Artwork for her piece Satellite. The names of all the artists selected to show work in this are: Shoshanna Ahart, Robin Brooks, John Brooks, Ann Calandro, Patrick Cicalo, Nina Clayton, Marie Dancy-Brennan, Claire Lewis Evans, Carol Gooberman, Ralph Hassenpflug, Gail Higginbotham, Irene Hill, Carrie Jacobson, Linda Pearlman Karlsberg, Dana Klein, Eric Law, Anda Marcu, Penny Markley, Judith Monteferrante, Kathryn Oliver, Rose Palmieri, Dan Pyle, David Quinn, Susan Ruach, Hadass Shereshevsky, Karen Shulman, Jay Spilker, Jeffrey Stoner, Martha Wade, and John M. Yetter. Chasing the Light (Finding the Shadow) is featured in the spring 2015 issue of Still Point Arts Quarterly.
