Follow on Google News | New Emergency Light by Lowell Thomas Tool IncLowell Thomas Tool Inc is producing a new Emergency Safety Light and launching a campaign on Kickstarter. Be one of the first to own this new product.
According to Ken Fichtler, marketing director for LTT, On March 5th of 2009, a natural gas leak caused an explosion in our home town of Bozeman, Montana (http://newwest.net/ LTT is now launching the production of a new emergency light that is powered by a glow stick. You may ask, what is new about a glow stick? Lowell Thomas, inventor and founder of LTT states " While there is nothing new about a glow stick, what is new is the patented housing that we have developed to encase it in. With a glow stick in our housing it becomes a directional light with increased intensity over a plain glowstick. The benefits of this type of light over existing lights on the maket is the safety aspect. All other sources of light generate a spark when turned on, making them extremely hazardous in any situation where a flamable product is present." According to Mr. Fichtler the many other benefits of this light include a 4 year shelf life, which is way longer than batteries, the affordable cost allows one to be placed in every room of a house, car, boat or plane. They are light weight and water proof which make them ideal for camping, snowmobiling or any outdoor activity. In the case of a natural disaster, you never have to worry about obtaining light in the inevitablity of a gas leak. The easy activation created by the patented housing allows for children and the elderly to have a readily accessible source of light. Due to the high costs of introducing a new product and in an effort to get this product to the market place as soon as possible, LTT is also launching a crowdfunding campaign through Kickstarter. The purpose of this campaign is to genrerate seed monies for the development of the molds required to produce the light housing. If you would like to help go to, https://www.kickstarter.com/ The team at LTT feels that after years of searching for a great solution and prototyping, they have what they think will be the next standard safety item for homes and businesses. Authors Note; Ironically while writing this PR from the balcony of my condo which is in an area with dozens of condos and houses, I am watching a fifth floor unit burn that some of my friends live in. Initial reports indicate that the fire was likely the result of a gas leak. Needless to say that along with checking my fire extinguishers, I believe I will order some of these safety lights. End
