The complete schedule can be found at http://k9dogpark.com “Southern California has a lot of rattlesnakes and folks that hike, camp, or even just play in some backyards realize that their dog may be bitten,” says David DiLoreto, co-owner of K9 Dog Park, “Our training helps dogs to make an alternate choice, they don’t have to sniff the snake, they choose to avoid and not be bitten.” K9 Dog Park first launched no-shock collar training in 2012 due to an outcry by clients who did not want their dogs hurt by shock collars during training. K9 Dog Park's snake avoidance training is positive reinforcement without the use of shock collars. According to the program creator Penny DiLoreto, “It is our belief that learning should not be painful and we have incorporated that belief into all of our training programs. Our snake avoidance training teaches dogs to avoid all snakes including rattlesnakes. Our program is positive but we do teach the dog to fear snakes through the uses of Sight, Sound, Scent, and Handler Correction using the 'Leave-It' command. The final test for success is watching dogs avoid our snake pit where pyrotechnic distractions, snake sounds and robotic snakes allows the dog owners to see the training success." Located in Escondido, CA K9 Dog Park is the leading dog training, grooming, daycare and boarding center for southern California. K9 Dog Park is the pioneer in advanced training techniques for dogs and their owners including snake avoidance training without the use of shock-collars; End
