Follow on Google News | 2015 Wiggle Honda Women's Cycling Team UnveiledBy: Wiggle.co.uk first time as a complete team to train and prepare for the 2015 race season. The riders and management are in Ghent, Belgium prior to the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad one day race that takes place in the city on the 28th of February. Although this is the first time that the new team line up has been officially unveiled and its members assembled, Wiggle Honda team riders have already enjoyed success in the 2015 season. In January, Chloe Hosking scored the team’s first win of the season by taking Stage 1 of the Bay Classic Series, and then went on to come second overall in the Tour of Qatar where Wiggle Honda won the team’s classification. The team’s newest, most recent 2015 signing, Peta Mullens also won the Australian National Championships back in January whilst Jolien D’hoore won the Belgian National Omnium Championship. In 2015 Giorgia Bronzini has already taken stage wins in both the Bay Cycling Classic and the Tour Down Under. Wiggle Honda’s recently crowned Dual World Track Champion, Annette Edmondson finished the Tour Down Under with the Green Sprinter’s Jersey. Based in Belgium, the team was formed in 2012 by manager and rider Rochelle Gilmore who won the gold medal for Australia in the 112 km Road Racing event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. The team has the backing of British Cycling, Cycling Australia and the Bradley Wiggins Foundation and competes in elite road and track cycling events around the world. Its first victory came in March 2013 when Emily Collins won the Omloop van het Hageland in Belgium. In 2014 the team had 12 UCI stage and UCI event wins as well as coming second at the World Cup Sparkassen Giro. Team members also enjoyed lots of success on the track with numerous national titles, world titles and Commonwealth Games titles. The team finished 7th in the 2014 UCI Rankings.
