Modesto Business College Offers No-Cost Training To The Unemployed

Community Business College in Modesto, California has set start dates for business classes for the unemployed in California’s economically impaired Central Valley.

MODESTO, Calif. - March 5, 2015 - PRLog -- As part of its ongoing efforts in helping unemployed adults obtain the skills they need to get back to work, Community Business College will be offering 2-week classes at no charge to unemployed adults, if they qualify.

The classes are made possible by generous business donations and are designed to help improve the quality of employability of people who are looking for work in Stanislaus County and the surrounding areas. Students receive training, a manual and job coaching all at no charge to them. They also receive free online account access to the local newspaper and are provided with opportunities to expand their education through other programs.

Four class cohorts have been scheduled in 2015. The first start date is Monday, April 6, 2015. The curriculum includes a primer on QuickBooks for businesses (http://www.cbcwebcollege.com/quickbooks1.htm), computer skills and business grammar refresher. QuickBooks is the number one business software for small businesses and used by many of the employers (http://www.communitybusinesscollege.edu/employers.html) who have hired Community Business College vocational graduates. The business grammar refresher has been a popular component to the program when the school has offered it before. The primary reason is because, for many adults, it has been a long time since they have used the fundamental communication skills they learned in school. Since more businesses have been testing job candidates on their communication skills, having a refresher has been helpful to job seekers (http://www.communitybusinesscollege.edu/).

Requirements for enrollment in this no-cost are that students must be adults, 18 years of age or older, currently unemployed or those who have received a layoff notice, and have a high school diploma or a GED (http://www.diplomacompletion.com/).
