J1 Performance Air Filter For The Ford Focus

FROME, U.K. - March 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Centred around a central lightly oiled cotton and mesh high performance cylindrical filter, the M128 Filter has the optional benefit of a secondary inlet cone, or a blanking cap, which can be swapped over depending on the driving situation, and or the drivers preference. Affixed with 4 screws and sealed to the main filter with an O-Ring, this interchangeability is simple and quick, and since the secondary cone can be removed completely, maintaining and cleaning the filters are made very easy. The black PA6 Nylon filter end caps, and Nitrile rubber open seal, create a robust and durable filter which can be used in many applications and environments. The orange cotton media and black outer mesh, gives a unique appearance to the filters, which would certainly brighten up any air intake and engine bay.

Although designed as a universal filter, j1 automotive also offer a separate aluminium ‘Filter Disc’ which can be attached the end of the M-Filter via the 4 screws, allowing the complete filter assembly to fit within the Ford Focus Mk2 & Mk3 air cleaners. The standard filter has been designed to support air flow rates of 7m³/min (about 2.0 litre petrol), and with the secondary cone included, the filter can support 8m³/min (about 2.3 litre petrol). J1 automotive also supply a range of machined Nylon straight connectors which fit directly into the open end of the filter for silicone hose attachment, allowing further versatility in custom air induction system design.

The restriction of the filter on its own drops by 50% when compared to the standard Ford Focus stock paper filter (tested with and without the secondary cone installed). When fitted into a Focus Air Cleaner, the system restriction drops by up to 25% when compared the stock paper filter, however, with the optional secondary cone installed, this system restriction drops by up to 63%.
