VW Golf Mk7 ‘GTI’, ‘GTD’ and ‘R’ Performance Air Intake Kit by j1 automotive

FROME, U.K. - Jan. 28, 2016 - PRLog -- Designed to use the j1 automotive performance M128 series air filter, it offers the benefit of a secondary cone air filter inlet, that lowers filtration restriction and offers greater performance, this unique feature is interchangeable, and the kit is supplied with the filter blanking cap as standard.

Based around a high quality powder coated aluminium heat shield, the intake kit also includes the performance pre-oiled cotton air filter, brightly coloured silicone hose elbow and machined nylon connectors, which replace the complete standard highly restrictive air cleaner assembly. The kit is also supplied with all the necessary clamps and fitting instructions, and can be installed within 15 to 20 minutes, no technical skills are required, and no alternations or modifications are required to any other vehicle component. The silicone hoses are available in ‘Orange’, ‘Blue’ and ‘Black’ as standard, and a further eight additional colours are available through special order. The petrol engines utilise the machined nylon connector to affix to the standard clean hose, whereas the diesels connect directly onto the MAF housing, so the machined connector would not be required.  The Clean hoses will be offered in silicone by j1 automotive at a later date.

All the j1 automotive performance air intake kits are designed and developed using the vigorous in-house APQP* (Advanced Product Quality Planning) techniques, ensuring top quality is addressed though-out the entire development process. The system is then rigorously tested in-house to evaluate expected performance improvements based on restriction loss, media velocities and filter efficiency. Tests are always conducted in accordance with ISO 5011, using SAE coarse dust to ensures adequate protection to your vehicles engine.

• Restriction – This regulates the flow of air through the system, minimise the restriction, and gain a greater airflow.
• Media Velocities – Speed at which air and particles transfer into / through the filter media, lower the velocities, and the greater the chance of particle entrapment.
• Efficiency – The ratio of dirt held by the filter vs the dirt entering the engine, the greater the efficiency, the better the protection.

The physical air flow testing undertaken on the new VW Golf Mk7 air intake kit, shows a reduction in the system restriction by nearly 50% when compared to the standard air cleaner and inlet duct system - plus subjective evaluations suggest a smoother more responsive acceleration, with an excellent induction noise.

As well as the Volkswagen Golf range of vehicles, the j1 kit will also fit the 1.8 and 2.0 TSI, and 2.0 TDI engines found in the following vehicles;
