Kimono Fashion Show "Emerging from Pupa" in Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - March 16, 2015 - PRLog -- US-based kimono fashion designer / stylist, Hiromi Asai presents a special kimono fashion show entitled "Emerging from Pupa" focusing on kimonos for “coming-of-age ceremony”. This fashion show is held at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at 1:00 pm, supported by Consulate-General of Japan in Miami. Admission is free.

Kimono is a Japanese sophisticated garment with a long history, over one thousand years. In this special event, Hiromi Asai focuses on outfits inspired by the Japanese unique event “Coming-of-Age Ceremony”, which cerebrates being 20 years old. The title of the show "emerging from pupa" implies the wish that youths spread their wings around the world. Hiromi Asai expresses this wish by her styling and design of kimonos.  The fashion show unveils many ensembles for young women with furisode long-sleeved kimono and ensembles for young men. At the end of this show, the audience witnesses an outfit of "emerging from pura", featured by a young talented model, Ainhoa. Prior to this show, Hiromi Asai talks briefly about kimonos and furisode, and demonstrates how to bind a long obi sash. Hiromi Asai, an owner of Kimono Hiro in FL & NY, works as a wardrobe stylist for fashion magazines, including Vogue, i-D Magazine, and Exhibition Magazine, the anniversary event of Shiseido America, and ads of Verizon Wireless. Hiromi Asai collaborated with designers to produce Western-Eastern fusion styles at New York Fashion Week. Furthermore, Hiromi Asai successfully produced a series of kimono fashion shows at Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and The Museum of World Culture in Gothenburg, Sweden, and in New York. Hiromi Asai creates various styles from traditional to modern fusion, featuring kimono. Hiromi Asai always thinks that kimono will be recognized as a universal formal wear that is beyond cultural and ethnic boundaries.

Hiromi Asai (http://www.kimonoflorida.com/portfolio.html) is a US-based kimono stylist and designer. She started her styling business as Kimono Hiro in NY in 2008. In 2013, Hiromi Asai opened a new studio "Kimono Hiro in FL" in South Florida. Now Hiromi Asai offers various services related to kimono and Japanese fashion in New York as well as in Florida.
