NEW YORK - March 17, 2015 - PRLog -- The WINTER FILM AWARDS Independent Film Festival (http://winterfilmawards.com/) focuses on showcasing emerging filmmakers from all genres from around the world. The 4th Annual Festival ran Feb 26-28 with 3 days of screenings, networking events and glittering after-parties. The event offered something for everyone, highlighting the dynamic range of storytelling the global indie filmmaking community has to offer. Among the 76 awesome films selected were a diverse mix of documentaries, shorts, features, animation, music videos and horror films from all over the world.

WFA festival patrons included NYC local filmmakers, arts enthusiasts, and international filmmakers who traveled across the world to see their films screened in front of a live audience, some for the very first time. The 76 films selected for screening this year came from 29 countries, 33 were directed  or produced by women, 15 student works and 26 first-time directors

The Festival concluded on the evening of February 28th with a gala Awards Ceremony and After-Party, held in the stunning Empire Room at the renowned event space club 230 Fifth and hosted by comedians Zach Garner and Matt Nagin. The dazzling awards show opened with a stunning opera performance by LongLong, and included live musical performances from Billboard artists Sessino and Oshy Byrd and closed with a performance by Sarina the Violin Diva. The event also featured an outrageous costume show designed by Natasha Berezhnaya.  Guests snacked on film-themed cupcakes and cake provided by Satin Ice Rolled Fondant and sampled Snapple tea and DeepEddy Vodka.
