#UrbanEats: Introducing Another Twisted Classic

St Louis Cafe leaps into Spring 2015 with new menu additions

ST. LOUIS - March 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Urban Eats (@UrbanEats) has rolled out its new Spring menu additions with some fun twists on the classics and fresh, springy takes on customer favorites.

“We are all about making real, wholesome food taste awesome and have a fun personality to boot! ” said co-owner Caya Aufiero.  “Our emphasis is on creating sustainable, accessible food oases in developing neighborhoods, and keeping our prices reasonable, although we do use organic ingredients when we can source them affordably, or when we can grow them in our own garden” she continued.

The menu adjusts to take advantage of ingredients when they are at their peak and to reflect the human inclination to eat seasonally.

So here’s the scoop for Spring 2015:

Additions to the Urban Eats Twisted Classics Menu are the grilled Wild Salmon Burger and the Sourdough Ham & Cheese Melt. The entrees join Twisted Classics standards like their popular Gourmet Chicken Dog topped with Asian Slaw.

**The Wild Alaskan Salmon Burger is served on a seeded Bagel Bun. It’s topped with baby spinach, red onions, arugula, basil tomatoes and Swiss American Cheese. Smothered in house-made Chipotle Mayo, with pickled onions on the side.

**The Sourdough Ham & Cheese Melt is grilled with two types of cheese on thick slices of Fazio’s sourdough bread, spread with our own Sriracha Dijon Mustard. It’s a tangy take on your favorite ham & cheese sandwich. Photo:

Other refreshing spring menu items include a handcrafted Green Tea & Mango Smoothie, made with Greek Yogurt. Greek yogurt has about twice as much protein and half as many carbs as regular yogurt, plus considerably less sodium. The natural probiotics in yogurt aid in weight loss and maintaining a healthy digestive system.  Add in the benefits of authentic, fresh brewed green leaf tea, fresh spinach & mango and you have a delicious superfood for any time of the day.

**Kale Salad - tossed in a tangy orange-miso-sesame dressing with pepitas and plumped cranberries. The kale salad joins a number of other salads that are vegan.

**Curried Carrot Soup- This chilled soup is an annual herald of spring. A touch of ginger and creamy soymilk, this soup is Gluten Free, as all their soups are, and vegan as well.

**New Black Bean and Sweet Potato Breakfast Wraps are available only on Saturday and Sunday at this time.

All the new menu items are available at Urban Eats Café’s South City location. Select menu items will be offered at Urban Eats Café Central downtown in the Central Library, and at Urban Eats Parkside in Carondelet Park, when their concession opens Memorial Day weekend.
