TORONTO - March 23, 2015 - PRLog -- Nicole Rosove, an award-winning dancer, today announced Movement for Memories; an intimate evening of performance art in support of Alzheimer's research, that will feature a dazzling array of performances, including hip hop and contemporary  dance, spoken word,  vocalists and more! Organized by local contemporary dancer, Nicole Rosove, the conception of the show was inspired by her grandparents who have been afflicted by Alzheimer’s, a disease that has become so prevalent across Canada, and around the globe.

“After losing my paternal and maternal grandfathers to Alzheimer’s, I thought to myself, I need to do something to help...” said producer, Nicole Rosove. “On top of that, when my paternal grandmother, Lee, who suffers from Alzheimer's, expressed her desire to see me dance, well I knew what I had to do, and the idea for Movement for Memories was formed.”

“Baycrest is a leader in cognitive neuroscience and memory research, with the goal of transforming the journey of aging,” said Garry Foster, President and CEO of Baycrest Foundation. “At Baycrest we create, evaluate and transfer knowledge into best practices to provide a community-wide impact on care, quality of life and wellness for an aging population.  We are so grateful that Movement for Memories is supporting our efforts in such an impactful way.”

According to the World Health Organization, approximately 35.6 million people around the globe are currently living with a form of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease. This number is expected to double by 2030 and more than triple by 2050 throughout Canada.
