Priced Out of Love: Dramatic, Interracial Romance Highlighting Poverty & the Plight of Single Moms

March 20, 2015 - PRLog -- When asked about how the idea for Priced Out of Love came about, Ms. Black says it grew out of statistics she read about single mothers and poverty.

She states, “I have a degree in sociology and I’m always doing reading online – everything from current events to entertainment. Somehow I stumbled on an article about poverty amongst women and children in the U.S., and one of the statistics that stuck out to me was that something like 60% of those living in poverty are divorced women and children, and almost two-thirds of divorced moms receive no child support.”

“I don’t have children, but I have struggled in life, so I tried to imagine what it would be like to struggle – with kids. That’s how the story developed,” the author finished.

The heroine in Priced Out of Love, Lisa, is faced with this very real situation. She’s the mother of a two-year-old facing homelessness and all the other issues that come with poverty – until she meets Tristan, who turns out to be her literal knight in shining armor … but at what price?

Following is an overview of this dramatic, contemporary, interracial romance.

PROLOGUE

Lisa's soon-to-be ex-husband, Steven, left her almost homeless with a two-year-old to care for. A divorce attorney, he's threatened to take her daughter away unless she agrees not to ask for child support and alimony, which she needs to support herself and her child.

Cynthia, a close friend and high-priced escort, asks her to go on a date that pays $5,000 for one night -- no sex involved. Lisa reluctantly agrees, but decides during the date that this is a line of work she could never pursue.

However Tristan, the wealthy bachelor who is her suitor for the evening, has a much more permanent arrangement in mind -- one that could secure her and her daughter's future financially, but may ultimately cost her more in the long run.
