Downton Week April 11-17 At Marstons Mills Public Library

CAPE COD, Mass. - March 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Season Five too short? Suffering from Downton separation anxiety already?  We’ve got the cure!  Spend the week of April 11-17 enjoying dance, tea, fashion, and more at the Marstons Mills Public Library.

         Join us on Saturday, April 11, from 2:30-4:30 PM, as members of  Moments in Time Vintage Dance share dances of the 1910-1920s period.  They will be in costume, with additional costumes on display.  They will demonstrate dances including one-step, two-step, foxtrot, waltz, and tango.  Audience members will then have the opportunity to learn the dances.  Watch the dance, then take your chance!  Light refreshments will be served.  This program will take place next door to the library at the Liberty Hall Club.  Although there is no admission fee, registration is required.

         Return to the library on Wednesday, April 15 at 2 PM, for a Downton Tea and Fashion Show, presented by Donna and Ron Lasko.  Donna’s 1920 fashion collections and accessories will be both on display and worn in a participatory fashion show of hats, fans, oriental robes, and dress of the period.  Recover from the stress of tax day with an afternoon at Downton!  Again, admission is free, but please pre-register, and bring your own tea cup and saucer.

         The dance demonstration is from the earlier part of the Downton era, around the time of the Titanic into the early 1920s, whereas the tea and fashion show moves into the latter part.  The two programs compliment each other for the show’s span.
