The arrests, ordered by the Honorable High Judge Motaz Al Zohari on March 22 and 30, mark the end of a six-year court battle, awarding Alexandria native, Mr. Ramy Mustafa El-Degaishy, Five Million Egyptian pounds ($700,000 USD) in compensation for the loss by fire of his luxury safari yacht, Ghazala Explorer, at the Safaga Dry Dock in 2008. The court award included Three Million LE for Mr. Degaishy's yacht and Two Million LE for lost business and moral damages. Justice Department and fire experts determined that the blaze started aboard the yacht, Emperor Majestic, owned by Scuba Adventure Fleet, formerly known as Nile Sat Fleet. In pursuit of the court-ordered compensation to Mr. El-Degaishy, MMLS moved against the Scuba Adventure Fleet owned M/Y Voyager, securing an arrest against under Order No. 11 of 2015, followed by Order No. 13 of 2015, dated March 22, for the arrest of its sister vessels, M/Y Miss Veena and M/Y Atlantis, formerly M/Y Horizon. MMLS Executive Director, Said Mamdouh Abdel Maksoud stated, "Mr. El-Degaishy's yacht was fully destroyed due to no fault of his own, and after six long years, justice has prevailed.
