heyyo available on the Apple App Store, launches exclusively on Product Hunt

BERLIN - April 8, 2015 - PRLog -- Available today for iOS, heyyo is an app that enables spontaneous, time-limited group video calling. heyyo supports short communications by using 30 seconds as a default time constraint for all actions, combined with photo sharing elements.

Users start by taking a photo to show recipients the context of the call and send it to as many of their contacts as they’d like. Recipients have 30 seconds to answer the incoming heyyo, and are launched into a live video call of 30 seconds with up to 3 other participants. Users who missed the 30-second window to enter the live video call can later see the photo that started the heyyo and still experience the moment their friend wanted to share.

“We really wanted to keep it fun & spontaneous. 30 seconds lets you connect with your friends, show them what’s happening, while keeping it short and exciting,” says Oisin Zimmermann, CEO of heyyo.

The app is free and available worldwide in the Apple App Store, and will soon be available for Android. Heyyo combines the excitement of live video, which has seen a recent boom particularly in broadcasting with apps like Meerkat and Periscope, with ephemeral photo sharing, popularized by apps like Snapchat.
