Follow on Google News | Carlisle Auctions Presents its Second 2015 Offering as Part of Spring CarlisleBidding, Selling or in it for the Live Excitement, 350+ Consignments Slated to Cross the Block
By: Carlisle Auctions The auction, powered by Carlisle Auctions, takes place April 23-24 at the adjacent Carlisle Expo Center and is THE hot draw of the weekend for collector car enthusiasts. Backed by Carlisle Auctions’ FREE UNLESS SOLD guarantee, the quantity and quality of consignments has dramatically increased since the re-birth of the Carlisle Auctions brand in 2013. In fact, the passion for the hobby is so strong, that Carlisle Auctions has sold out of available lots during each of its four annual auctions and at last year’s Spring Carlisle Auction, sold 70% of all consignments. This year’s event has an impressive array of options, led by Friday’s (April 24) star consignment, a 1977 Bandit Trans Am owned by Burt Reynolds. While all cars will cross the block, most will start the event outdoors. Only a select few featured cars will call the inside of the Carlisle Expo Center home and those rides are the cream of the crop. Though not every featured car can earn a call out within this release, some are very note worthy. For 2015, enthusiasts can check out the likes of a 2010 Ford Mustang that’s perfect for any New York Yankees fan. This car has under 5,000 miles on it and is white with blue Yankee pinstripes and the Yankees logo on it. In addition, it’s signed by future hall of famer Derek Jeter and comes with additional Jeter memorabilia. Another notable consignment is a 1939 Harley Davidson Knucklehead. This bike is powered by a two-cylinder engine, which was the largest Harley Davidson engine available in 1939. Restored by Laugerman’s Harley Davidson of York, Pennsylvania, it’s been part of their museum collection for the past three years. Recently, it was taken off its display stand and given a test ride where it hit the 100 m.p.h. mark. Another great piece of automotive history is a 1957 Cadillac El Dorado Biarritz. This award winning car comes with factory air, has been refinished once in its correct Copper Iridescent color and even has an Autronic-Eye automatic headlight dimmer. For those looking to snag a piece of American muscle, look no further than a red, one owner, 1970 Ford Torino GT. Having won two first place AACA National Meet awards, it’s a true testament to cars of a bygone era. Driven between 1970 and 1985, it was taken off the road for good and given a ground up restoration between 1988 and 1990. All documentation is included too for further value. Finally, Carlisle Auctions touts many low mileage classic cars for this year’s auction, including a 1978 Corvette Pace Car with just 55 original miles. There is one more car of note and it will cross the block on Thursday afternoon for charity. Courtesy of Wessels’ Used Cars of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, a car will be donated with 100% of the sale going to the Carlisle branch of the Salvation Army. As part of this auction, R.J. Harris of local radio station WHP 580 will handle the auctioneer duties. Along with the standard consignments and indoor featured cars, there are a few vehicles that are crossing the block for charity, plus some merchandise and collectibles. Most of the consignments are available for preview online now and all will be available to preview starting Wednesday, April 22. Preview day commences at approximately 10 a.m. and all auction lots will be onsite by the time the auction starts at 3 p.m. on the 23rd. Registering to bid is simple and can be done onsite within the auction office or in advance by calling Carlisle Auctions at 717-960-6400. End
