Kaftan Communities Celebrates 50 Years Managing Michigan Properties

Now, 50 years later and with son Jeffrey Kaftan at the helm, Kaftan manages 24 communities providing rental homes to over 2,400 families and is on track to continue solid revenue growth of 20 percent annually.

Jeffrey Kaftan explains that the company “has a two-pronged strategy for growth, developed over the past few years as the economy has improved. First, we’ve taken more traditional communities such as the 500-plus unit The Gables of Troy and Westbury Village Townhomes in Auburn Hills, and rehabilitated and reimagined them to meet and exceed the wants and needs of our residents. And we’re continuing this model to our other communities – pushing the envelope to maintain the three factors which make us unique: our excellent customer service, tailored curb appeal and an untarnished reputation.”

Technology and a core understanding of the changing housing needs of a younger generation have led to Kaftan’s “upscale urban flats” concept that centers on the Metropolitan Flats brand.
