What Made Denmark One Of The Major Jewellery Producers In The EU?

HONG KONG - April 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Positive dynamics in jewellery production among the main producing countries from 2007 to 2013 were recorded in Denmark (+60.4% per year) and Romania (+38.0%), while for the other EU leaders the pace of growth was negative.

Danish jewellery designers offer intricate designs as well as a wide range or materials, such as silver, bronze or unconventional materials. The styles range from classic to modern, making Danish brands popular all over the world. Pandora is one of the most famous companies founded in Denmark, and its jewellery pieces are perfect instances of hand-finished and modern jewellery.

Due to the highest growth rates of production, Denmark and Romania were among the major producing countries in the EU. In 2013, the highest levels of jewellery production were recorded in Italy, France and Germany, more than 5,664.37 million EUR.

The lowest annual growth rates were recorded in Spain (-9.8%), where jewellery production reduced by almost 46.1% over the period under review. The remaining countries showed negative dynamics in relative values: Italy (-9.3%), Greece (-8.8%), Finland (-8.2%) and Portugal (-5.0%).

The countries with the largest production of jewellery in value terms were Italy (4,790 million EUR), France (651 million EUR), Germany (454 million EUR) and the United Kingdom (446 million EUR).
